'I treated him nice, gave him the best booth, introduced him to all the girls,' said Valentine adding: 'Steve liked me for three reasons: he never had to pick up a check (bill), I was a bachelor and available to him anytime and put no pressure on him. I was kinnda like his old lady except I didn't bug him and he wasn't screwing me.'
Valentine was much more than a nightclub host for McQueen. He had the keys to the bedroom. When the married actor met a girl he would take her off to Valentine's home:' I'd give him the keys to the burglar alarm but somehow the dumb bastard always managed to set it off.
'One night we picked up two girls who had just arrived in Los Angeles from some hick town. It's their first day here and already they're screwing Steve McQueen.
'They were thrilled. He comes out of the bedroom with his arms around them and says:"Well, girls ... this is Hollywood."'
McQueen's biographer Penina Spiegel says he liked women who shared drugs with him and would indulge in sexual practices his wife Neile would not tolerate. He was keen on marijuana, cocaine and amyl nitrate which is used to heighten sexual climax.
' Steve was a highly physical man, gifted by nature with the grace of a born athlete. His sexual drive had always been strong. With stardom his sphere of opportunity widened and his appetite intensified', she said adding:
'Having one woman at a time was no longer enough. Private, personal lovemaking, a one-on-one experience with a woman, was not nearly as titillating as sex with an audience. Steve liked groups. He liked showing off his body and his peepee. The first guy to take off his shirt was Steve; the first guy to drop his pants was Steve.'
Spiegel recalled a lady she describes as 'a blonde, buxom starlet' as telling her about the time she and her equally amply endowed sister spent with the superstar:" Steve made his sexual wants and needs real clear.
'He had real simple tastes, like meat and potatoes. Real simple, no courtship like:" Are you ready? C'mere. F--- me or out I go." My sister and I had a great affair with Steve. Steve wanted to bring in another girl but we objected. "Just to watch ," he said. " Really I love you. Our love is beautiful and I just want another girl to see it".
'We knew right away that this was not right. But Steve was a real lover filled with thrills and chills.
'Such a boy! He sure could take you on some fast rides. He liked to take you out on the motorcycle, get you ready till you could hardly wait yourself. He never had any money. We had to buy him coffee and cigarettes. Steve liked that. He liked having women pay for him who were almost certainly paid for by other men.'
A good friend of McQueen -- he became a major celebrity stealing scenes from the rest of 'The Magnificent Seven' in 1960 -- recalled group sex sessions involving the star and several other men. 'We had some good times together, he and I. We did some funny things with ladies.. two or three girls at a time. '
