‘John goes through dark periods. His blood pressure is through the roof but thanks to the advances of modern medicine... he takes about sixty pills a day. No, I'm exaggerating. But a lot of pills, all different colours. It's all under control and he leads a fairly normal lives. He's going through a bright, happy stage right now but he does get moody. ‘He's very unsatisfied with the world in general not just in our lives. He can watch the news and just go into a funk for a long time. ‘He doesn't worry about the future -- he jokes about it. He doesn't very often have serious conversations about it. We're both intelligent enough people to know that certain things are going to happen eventually but it's still a long way of. ‘As I mature -- we've been together 20 years now -- the age gap and the personality gap and all these things just start to get smaller and smaller and you become more similar. ‘Rarely does he ever get me confused with his other blonde wives now... He used to say:”Remember when we went here or there and did this?” I'd say:”No, that wasn't me.” We'd argue and he's say:”Oh, that was the other blonde.” ‘ She has said in the past that she was waiting until ther right time to have children but now admits:' I don't want children now. John has always been open to having children if I wanted but they're not his favourite things. He doesn't care for them that much. I don't want them anymore. I never seriously did. It's something you're supposed to want as a woman and I've been saying:” Oh, maybe in a few years.” I don't even say that anymore. John prefers animals and,yeah, I prefer animals. The more I learn about people and animals, people aren't very nice.' Nevertheless, they are surrounded by people as well as animals. Famous people. We have Jimmy Connors and his Patti who's a very good friend of mine. They've been here a long time though. We have John Forsythe -- he just moved up and bought a really cute goat farm here. We have Cheryl Ladd and her husband Brian. There's Fess Parker and Ray Stark the producer and Doug Cramer the producer. ‘The Reagans? Yes, Ronald and Nancy -- they don't come very often now. It's so sad about his illness. It's a very remote place they have and it's nice old house but it's not luxurious.' They are also surrounded by rumours.
